So, Karl came to Provo Friday night. That was kind of bizarre and fun. He had emailed me and told me he wanted to come up for General Conference, I told him to call me if he did, and then a couple weeks went by and I didn't hear from him until Friday night when he called me and was like, "Hey, I'm in Provo." Randomly, a friend of his from back in LA was putting on this concert at a venue here called "The Loft". I'd never been there, but it was fun.
Henry, the friend, is trying to get a solo career going. He just grabbed a bunch of friends in the music business and threw this sort of back-up band for himself. Some of the members that night had never actually performed with him until that night. Henry was pretty talented, but his stuff wasn't really my sort of music. He's in a band . . . or, was in a band. They've made an album together, but I think he's more interested in developing his solo stuff. Anyway, the band (they weren't there) is called . . . heh . . . cough . . . "Soul-Jah" . . . and their music is even less my type (I heard some on myspace). Henry's writing songs all over the place (most of the ones he performed that night were only two or three weeks old) and wanting to make his own album. I would discribe his music as Jack Johnson hip-hop with alternative rock music and a little bit of dance stuff thrown in on some songs. I had a good time, despite the difference in music tastes, and it was nice to see Karl.

I also posted a couple of pictures of costume designer for film Deborah Landis who came from LA to give some lectures and teach a couple costume classes at BYU. That happened like, two weeks ago? I can't remember exactly.
Also, I'm thinking about upgrading to flickr Pro. I've reached my 200 photo limit and it's driving me a little crazy.
It was kind of an insane/confusing/tiring week/weekend all around . . . it's too much to type and probably not that interesting anyway . . . so I'm just going to sign off for now.
