"Exercise Science"

So, I need to take a PE class next semester. I've narrowed my choices down to tap dance or badminton. I'm pretty equally interested in both, but only have time for one.

I've always been fascinated by tap dance since I started watching MGM Musicals when I was a little girl, and badminton is the only sport I ever truly enjoyed.

What do you think?

and your heart beats so slow . . .
through the rain and fallen snow . . .

It's official.

I not only have one plane ticket waiting on the computers at good old Southwest Airlines to take me to Oregon, but TWO.

Yes my friends, I am coming home.

I am flying into PDX on June 8th (unfortunately flying back out again promptly on June 12th) and flying into PDX again on July 8th. On the second trip, I will be staying until approxemately July 28th. So, plan your trips to Astoria accordingly. Or, at least make time for me to come to Portland or Seattle or wherever you may be.

This summer is looking GOOD. Not only am I going to Prague and Italy, but I get to work for two different professional theatre companies in Utah. Pretty rad.

Next year is looking amazing. I am designing two shows: the opera, Marriage of Figaro and the winter musical, Berlin. I'm going to take architecture classes. I'm going to be working as Eric Feilding's research and design assistant and be paid for it. John will be back. I will be applying to UW and NYU. I will graduate. Wow.

all of these lines across my face . . .

I just discovered to this song called "The Story" by Brandi Carlile and I am interested to know what you think of it.

I bet you're going to say what I said . . . which would be, "freaking amazing". This woman's voice is so powerful. I can't stop listening to it. It's one of those songs you wonder how you lived without for so long. Makes me love and appreciate life and music and love just a little more.

So, go here and listen to the little clip.

I hereby resolve not to lose my resolutions ever again.

I think it's neat that Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead are both playing at BYU right now.

Soho Square . . . what do you want from me?

So, Karl came to Provo Friday night. That was kind of bizarre and fun. He had emailed me and told me he wanted to come up for General Conference, I told him to call me if he did, and then a couple weeks went by and I didn't hear from him until Friday night when he called me and was like, "Hey, I'm in Provo." Randomly, a friend of his from back in LA was putting on this concert at a venue here called "The Loft". I'd never been there, but it was fun.

Henry, the friend, is trying to get a solo career going. He just grabbed a bunch of friends in the music business and threw this sort of back-up band for himself. Some of the members that night had never actually performed with him until that night. Henry was pretty talented, but his stuff wasn't really my sort of music. He's in a band . . . or, was in a band. They've made an album together, but I think he's more interested in developing his solo stuff. Anyway, the band (they weren't there) is called . . . heh . . . cough . . . "Soul-Jah" . . . and their music is even less my type (I heard some on myspace). Henry's writing songs all over the place (most of the ones he performed that night were only two or three weeks old) and wanting to make his own album. I would discribe his music as Jack Johnson hip-hop with alternative rock music and a little bit of dance stuff thrown in on some songs. I had a good time, despite the difference in music tastes, and it was nice to see Karl.

pictures

I also posted a couple of pictures of costume designer for film Deborah Landis who came from LA to give some lectures and teach a couple costume classes at BYU. That happened like, two weeks ago? I can't remember exactly.

Also, I'm thinking about upgrading to flickr Pro. I've reached my 200 photo limit and it's driving me a little crazy.

It was kind of an insane/confusing/tiring week/weekend all around . . . it's too much to type and probably not that interesting anyway . . . so I'm just going to sign off for now.
